L'Escala is a Catalan resort, located along the Mediterranean. It is located in the southern part of the Gulf of Roses, on the coast of the Costa Brava. Its population is multiplied by 10 during the months of July and August. Its signature dish is the anchovy and one can find the ruins of Empuries. They speak Spanish and Catalan and French in most places.
This resort is well known today by many tourists, developed around the village which is a town born of an old fisherman's quarter, and even at the beginning, from only a few fishermen's huts whose origin dates back to the 17th century (1660).

The Montgrí Castle and the Dunes: The route from L'Estartit and starts to rise very quickly. Down, the GR 92 will be followed to the Dunes, back to Torroella by a local trail.
The former capital of County d'Empúries: Sant Martí d'Empúries is a medieval town, once the capital of the County d'Empúries. Now fully restored, it welcomes visitors eager to enjoy the sea safely.
